The radius of a sphere is 6 units. Which expression represents the volume of the sphere, in cubic units? π(6)2 π(6)3 π(12)2 π(12)3

Answers

Answer: [tex]\frac{4}{3}\pi (6)^3[/tex]

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for calculate the volume of a sphere is:

[tex]V=\frac{4}{3}\pi r^3[/tex]

Where "V" is the volume of the sphere and "r" is the radius of the sphere.

In this case the radius of the sphere is 6 units. Knowing this radius, you can substitute into the formula [tex]V=\frac{4}{3}\pi r^3[/tex]

Therefore, you get that the expression that represents the volume of this sphere is:

[tex]V=\frac{4}{3}\pi (6)^3[/tex]

I am paying $60.00 a month for my service. I would like to upgrade to the $80.00 service package because my new employer offers a 20% discount with your company. What would be the cost difference compared to what I am paying now if I upgraded?"

Answers

Answer:

The cost difference is $4.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the provided information.

I am paying $60 a month for my service.

I would like to upgrade to the $80.00 service package because my new employer offers a 20% discount with your company.

If i get 20% of discount that means i need to pay only 80% of the original amount.

80% of 80 can be calculated as:

[tex]\frac{80}{100}\times 80[/tex]

[tex]0.8\times 80=64[/tex]

Therefore, now i need to pay $4 extra for the upgrade service.

Hence, the cost difference is $4.

the cost difference would be $4 more per month if upgrade is done.

First, let's calculate the cost of the $80 service package with a 20% discount:

[tex]20\%\ of\ 80 = \frac{20}{100} \times 80 = 16[/tex]

Now we need to subtract the discount from the original price = [tex]\$80 - \$16 = \$64[/tex]

Now, let's find the cost difference between the current $60 service and the discounted $64 service. This can be done by subtracting 60 from 64 which gives:

[tex]\$64 - \$60 = \$4[/tex]

Therefore, the cost difference would be $4 more per month if upgrade is done.

3x +2y = 19
- 4x +3y = -14

Answers

Answer:

x = 5 and y = 2, or (5,2) (Whichever one you do in class)

Step-by-step explanation:

You should solve this problem using substitution!

First you want to solve for x on this equation, 3x + 2y = 19.

start by subtracting 2y on each side, 3x + 2y(-2y) = 19(-2y). 3x = -2y + 19

Then divide by 3, 3x/3 = (-2y + 19)/3, this would give you x = (-2y + 19)/3

Next you substitute (-2y + 19)/3 in for x in 4x + 3y = -14: 4(-2y/3 + 19/3) + 3y = -14

Then Solve: (See Math Papa Algebra Calculator if you want to know exactly how to solve.) This would give you y = 2

Then substitute the 2: giving you x = 5

To solve the system of equations, use the method of elimination. Multiply both equations by suitable constants to eliminate one variable and then solve for the other variable. Substitute the value of one variable back into one of the original equations to solve for the other variable. The solution to the system of equations is obtained by finding the values of x and y that satisfy both equations.

Explanation:

The given question consists of a system of two linear equations:

3x + 2y = 19

-4x + 3y = -14

To solve this system, we can use the substitution or elimination method. Let's use the method of elimination:

Multiply the first equation by 3 and the second equation by 2 to eliminate the x variable: 9x + 6y = 57 and -8x + 6y = -28Subtract the second equation from the first equation to eliminate the y variable: 17x = 85Divide both sides of the equation by 17 to solve for x: x = 5Substitute the value of x back into one of the original equations to solve for y: 3(5) + 2y = 19
15 + 2y = 19
2y = 4
y = 2The solution to the system of equations is x = 5 and y = 2.

Is a acute angle always in the socially’s triangle?

Answers

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Do you mean an isosceles triangle? If you do then the answer is yes because two of the angles cannot be more that 90o. If they are the sum of the angles are going to be more than 180.

For example, if both angles in the isosceles triangles are 100 then the two angles will add up to 100 + 100 = 200 degrees. No triangle has 200 degrees in it.

Well how about 90.? Could two angles in a triangle have 90 each?

No because 90 + 90 = 180. There's no room for another angle.

So two angles of an isosceles triangle must be acute.

It will take Adam four hours to drive to Disney Park, and 2.5 times less time if driving 45 mph faster. What is the distance Adam should cover to get to the park?

Answers

Hello!

The answer is:

The distance to over by Adam to get to the park is 108 miles.

Why?

To solve the problem, we need to write two equations using he given information about the times and his speed.

So,

For the first equation we have: Travel to Disney Park

[tex]time=4hours[/tex]

[tex]Distance=v*4hours[/tex]

For the second equation we have: Travel back from Disnery Park

[tex]time=4hours-2.5hours=1.5hours[/tex]

[tex]Speed=v+45mph[/tex]

[tex]Distance=(v+45mph)*1.5hours[/tex]

Then, if Adam covered the same distance going and coming back, we have:

[tex]v*4hours=(v+45mph)*1.5hours[/tex]

[tex]v*4hours=v*1.5hours+45mph*1.5hours[/tex]

[tex]v*4hours-v*1.5hours=45mph*1.5hours[/tex]

[tex]v*2.5hours=67.5miles[/tex]

[tex]v=\frac{67.5miles}{2.5hours}=27\frac{miles}{hour}=27mph[/tex]

We have that the speed when he was going to Disney Park was 27 mph.

Now, to calculate the distance, we need to substitute the obtained speed in any of the two first equations.

Therefore, substituting the speed into the second equation, we have:

[tex]Distance=(v+45mph)*1.5hours[/tex]

[tex]Distance=(27mph+45mph)*1.5hours=72mph*1.5hours=108miles[/tex]

Hence, we have that the distance that Adam should cover to get to the park is 108 miles.

Two cars simultaneously started traveling towards each other from two cities, which are 400 miles apart. Car 1 travels 20mph faster than Car 2, and they met in 4 hours. What are the speeds of the cars?

Answers

Answer:

The first car travels at 60 mph and the second at 40 mph.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's represent the speed of the first car as s1 and that of the second car as s1.  Then s1 = s2 + 20 reflects the fact that the speed of the first car is 20 mph faster than that of the second car.

The total distance traveled is 400 miles.  Since distance = rate times time,

time = distance / rate.

First car:  (s1*t) is the distance traveled;

Second car:  (s2*t) is the distance traveled.

Adding these two distances together results in 400 miles:

s1*t + s2*t = 400 miles, or

t(s1 + s2) = 400 miles.  Let's eliminate s1 by substituting s2+ 20 for it:

t(s2 + 20 + s2) = 400 miles.  But we know t:  the cars both travel 4 hours.

Thus,

(4 hr)(2s2 + 20) = 400 miles, or

(after dividing both sides by 4 hr)

(2s2 + 20) = 100 miles/hr

Subtracting 20 from both sides:

2s2 = 80, so that s2 = 40 mph.

If s2 = 40 mph, then s1 = s2 + 20 = 60 mph

The first car travels at 60 mph and the second at 40 mph.

if the federal reserve sells 50,000 in treasury bonds to a bank at 6% interest, the immediate effect on the money supply would be; the money supply would decrease by $50,000.

The $50,000 will be transferred to the federal reserves and thus not available to be borrowed by the public.

Final answer:

When the Federal Reserve sells Treasury bonds to a bank, the money supply decreases. This is because the bank, having bought the bonds, will have to reduce its loans to maintain requisite reserves. This is a product of open market operations, a monetary policy tool active within the central banking system.

Explanation:

The question you're asking pertains to the field of macroeconomics, specifically monetary policy. You're curious about the effects on the money supply if the Federal Reserve sells $50,000 in Treasury bonds to a bank at 6% interest.

When the Federal Reserve sells these bonds to a bank, it effectively reduces the amount the bank can loan out to customers. The financial institution has to hold a certain amount in reserves, hence, by buying the bonds, it has to reduce its loans to fulfill this requirement. This, therefore, results in an immediate decrease in the money supply.

It's important to note that the Federal Reserve sells bonds to control the flow of money in the economy. This selling of bonds is a type of monetary policy tool called open market operations, which is used to influence the quantity of bank reserves and the level of interest rates.

Hansel stooped and stuffed the little pocket of his coat with as many as he could get in. Then he went back and said to Gretel: "Be comforted, dear little sister, and sleep in peace, God will not forsake us," and he lay down again in his bed. When day dawned, but before the sun had risen, the woman came and awoke the two children, saying: "Get up, you sluggards! we are going into the forest to fetch wood." She gave each a little piece of bread, and said: "There is something for your dinner, but do not eat it up before then, for you will get nothing else." Gretel took the bread under her apron, as Hansel had the pebbles in his pocket. Then they all set out together on the way to the forest. When they had walked a short time, Hansel stood still and peeped back at the house, and did so again and again. His father said: "Hansel, what are you looking at there and staying behind for? Pay attention, and do not forget how to use your legs." "Ah, father," said Hansel, "I am looking at my little white cat, which is sitting up on the roof, and wants to say goodbye to me." The wife said: "Fool, that is not your little cat, that is the morning sun which is shining on the chimneys." Hansel, however, had not been looking back at the cat, but had been constantly throwing one of the white pebble-stones out of his pocket on the road. When they had reached the middle of the forest, the father said: "Now, children, pile up some wood, and I will light a fire that you may not be cold." Hansel and Gretel gathered brushwood together, as high as a little hill. The brushwood was lighted, and when the flames were burning very high, the woman said: "Now, children, lay yourselves down by the fire and rest, we will go into the forest and cut some wood. When we have done, we will come back and fetch you away." Hansel and Gretel sat by the fire, and when noon came, each ate a little piece of bread, and as they heard the strokes of the wood-axe they believed that their father was near. It was not the axe, however, but a branch which he had fastened to a withered tree which the wind was blowing backwards and forwards. And as they had been sitting such a long time, their eyes closed with fatigue, and they fell fast asleep. When at last they awoke, it was already dark night. Gretel began to cry and said: "How are we to get out of the forest now?" But Hansel comforted her and said: "Just wait a little, until the moon has risen, and then we will soon find the way." And when the full moon had risen, Hansel took his little sister by the hand, and followed the pebbles which shone like newly-coined silver pieces, and showed them the way.
