what does this excerpt from the end of the "the yellow wallpaper" tell the reader

What Does This Excerpt From The End Of The "the Yellow Wallpaper" Tell The Reader

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

I believe that the best answer to the question here: What does this excerpt from the end of "The Yellow Wallpaper" tell the reader, would be, C: The narrator believes the window bars will not allow her to escape.

Explanation:

"The Yellow Wallpaper" is a short story by Charlotte Perkins Stetson about a woman who has to spend her entire summer vacation cooped up in a mansion, and particularly an old nursery room papered with yellow wallpaper, with her husband John, his sister and their child. Although at first the woman, who is the narrator, tells us that she despises the wallpaper, as time goes by, and since she is forced to remain where she is, she starts to develop a sort of interest in it as she starts to see that there is much more to the paper than she first thought. Images, and then figures, start to appear, until she is sure she sees a woman´s shape behind the jail-like pattern. At the same time, she starts to see that the woman from the paper also appears on the garden outside, creeping. The appearance of disappearance both in the pattern, or the garden, will depend entirely on the light (sunlight or moonlight), and depending on the reflections on the windows, that woman will turn into many. At the end of the story the narrator and the woman from the pattern become one but they realize they cannot escape, as the windows are barred and cannot be opened. So, it almost seems like she tells herself that even if she had wanted to, she won´t because she cannot open them, it would be misunderstood by others and besides, she could see multiple women out there, creeping, like she did. It almost becomes like the wanderings of a child who knows she cannot get away with what she wanted to do originally, but still gives herself justification for not trying it. That is why the best choice is C.

Answer 2

Answer: c

Explanation: the narrator believes that she was once behind the wallpaper herself

How much do you think place affects people? Consider how a certain place has played a part in your life or in the life of someone you know. You could also think about a movie or a book in which the location is key to the story. Write a paragraph explaining how you think place affects a person or character.

Answers

Location can affect a lot of things. Living in one area can give you a different understanding of how life is. Culture can be completely different to someone who lives in the US vs someone who lives in France. The different behaviors of each country can tell of how the person was raised. Accents also tell of the affect a location has on a person. In the book "The Hunger Games" By Suzanne Collins, Katniss lived in district twelve where poverty is the highest in Panem. Their way of life of having to hunt for food and try to survive is vastly different from those in the capital and in districts 1-4. In the capital and 1-4 they don't have to work so hard to survive and see the Hunger Games as fun or entertainment. In district 11 and 12 they see it has a hassle where it takes away people that can help pay for food or help with things around the house. Location can show how a person behaves and have background in their beliefs as well.

Final answer:

Place plays a critical role in shaping individuals' socialization, identity, and experiences. Its influences can be seen in political socialization, personal writing, and sociocultural practices. Settings in literature like Twain's works also set the stage for narrative and character development.

Explanation:

Place significantly influences individuals' socialization, identity, and experiences. Growing up, our environment like our homes, schools, or places of worship largely shape our beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors. For example, schools' teaching philosophies and political activities can influence our political socialization whereas cultural or environmental influences from our living situation can affect our identity and worldview. In literature, place often plays a pivotal role in shaping characters and narratives. Mark Twain, for instance, employs detailed settings to establish a sense of time and place for the narrative and the characters' development.

Similarly, in personal writing or memoir, the writer's place or surroundings can affect how experiences are perceived and conveyed to engage the readers emotionally. Lastly, in a sociocultural context, place is more than just a physical location; it carries distinct meanings and plays a role in practices like religions where sacred places manifest divine presence. Therefore, where and how we live our lives have a strong impact on defining who we are, and how we see and act in the world.

An angle measures 82° more than the measure of its complementary angle. What is the measure of each angle?

Answers

COMPLEMENTARY ANGLES ARE 2 ANGLES WHOSE SUM IS EQUAL TO 90.

LET X = FIRST ANGLE, SO THE SECOND ANGLE WOULD BE X + 82 SINCE IT IS 82 MORE THAN THE FIRST ANGLE.

NOW ADD THE TWO ANGLES TOGETHER AND THAT ANSWER IS 90.

THE EQUATION WOULD BE X + X + 82 = 90

2X + 82 = 90

SUBTRACT 82 FROM BOTH SIDES -82 -82

2X = 8

DIVIDE BOTH SIDES BY 2 AND GET X = 4

THIS TELLS US THAT THE FIRST ANGLE IS 4

SECOND ANGLE IS 82 + X. REPLACING X WITH 4 WE GET 82 + 4 = 86.

CHECK

FIRST ANGLE = 4 PLUS SECOND SNGLE = 86. ADDED TOGETHER GIVES 90. THIS MEANS THE ANGLES ARE COMPLEMENTARY

The measure of each angle is 86°.

What are complementary angles?

Two angles are said to be complementary if their sum is equal to 90°.

Calculation:

Let, the first angle is x

So, the second angle will be x + 82

Now, x + (x+82) = 90°

2x = 90 - 82

2x = 8

x   = 4

Thus, the first angle is 4

Now, 82 + 4 = 86.

Therefore, the first angle is 82°

Which is a theme in “young goodman brown” ?

Answers

Final answer:

Themes in "Young Goodman Brown" include the struggle between good and evil and the loss of innocence, with motifs like darkness and the forest reinforcing these concepts.

Explanation:

One theme in "Young Goodman Brown" by Nathaniel Hawthorne is the struggle between good and evil within the human soul. Goodman Brown's journey through the forest and his encounter with various characters symbolize the internal conflict he undergoes, oscillating between his Puritan faith and his growing suspicion of the underlying evil in human nature. Another theme is the loss of innocence and the idea that no one is truly righteous, as Goodman Brown witnesses the fallibility of his fellow townspeople, leading to his ultimate despair and distrust. Motifs reinforcing these themes include the use of darkness and the forest as representations of the unknown and potentially evil aspects of the world and the human psyche.

Mr. White uses his third and final wish, -B

Answer:

The correct answer is option B) Mr. White uses his third and final wish.

Explanation:

The climax is the moment when the maximum peak in a story develops.

The moment of greatest tension will reach its peak in the climax, and that just happens when Mr White uses his third wish to make the monster that was supposed to be his son disappear.

If we think about that situation, the plot becomes very tense, with knocks on the door getting louder, and Mrs. White desperately going to see her son while Mr. White knew that if he opened that door they would die.

That's when he asks that monster disappear and the climax reaches its maximum point.

Given this information we can say that the correct answer is option B.
