B.

C.
a tool used to press relief prints
D.

Answers

C a tool used to press relief prints because it is used to make paintings.

Answer:

the answer is B

A squeegee is used to force ink through the screen onto the surface. Silkscreen images are “right-reading,” as opposed to relief, intaglio, or lithography prints, which all result in a mirror image of the matrix. In all of these processes, the image is printed from a fixed matrix.

Why does the author include details about the Lins’ night out at the Lakeview restaurant in "The All-American Slurp"?

A. to reveal the narrator’s rejection of American culture
B. to reveal the narrator’s frustration with her parents’ rules
C. to illustrate the narrator’s difficulties adapting to American culture
D. to illustrate the narrator’s dislike of dining in public places

Answers

Answer:

C. to illustrate the narrator’s difficulties adapting to American culture

Explanation:

"The All-American Slurp" is a short story written by Lensey Namioka. It talks about a family which immigrated to a new country and the embarrassing situations they faced.

"Lakeview" was an expensive restaurant. It wasn't common for the family to eat in such places in America, other than Chinese restaurants. The details were needed in order to illustrate the narrator's difficulties in adapting to American Culture. They tried to adapt, but it was difficult for them.

For example, the family didn't know much about what was listed on the menu because they were all written in French. Another example was the difficulty they encountered in eating the soup. They were loud enough to make sounds of "Shloop" (slurp), which is a way of showing appreciation in China. However, it wasn't the same in America. Slurping is considered rude.

So, this explains the answer.

In 'The All-American Slurp', the details about the Lins’ dining experience at the Lakeview restaurant are included to illustrate the narrator’s choppy journey of assimilating into American culture.

In the story 'The All-American Slurp' by Lensey Namioka, the author includes details about the Lins’ night out at the Lakeview restaurant to illustrate the narrator’s difficulties adapting to American culture. It serves to showcase the cultural differences the Lins face and also demonstrate how these challenges influence their interactions in public spaces. For instance, the Lins are shown as being unsure of the dinner etiquettes at the restaurant, leading to several awkward moments. Detailing this experience helps highlight the hardships of assimilation into a new social and cultural environment.

are your color saturated and intense or muted and faded?

Answers

Answer: saturated and intense

Explanation:

Final answer:

The question is about the use of color in art. Saturated or intense colors are vibrant and bold, while muted or faded colors are subdued and soft. The choice between these types of colors is often a matter of personal aesthetic preference.

Explanation:

The question you've asked is related to the use of color in arts, specifically relating to the saturation or intensity of the colors. When colors are described as being saturated or intense, it usually means they are vibrant, bold, and rich - much like the artist's use of bright colors in her paintings. On the other hand, muted and faded colors are subdued, soft, and often more calming to look at.

An example can be seen in colors ranging from red to violet through the rainbow of color spectrum. The degree of saturation can indeed alter the perception and interpretation of a piece of artwork. The choice of using either saturated/intense or muted/faded colors would not make one piece of artwork superior to another, it's just a matter of different aesthetic preference.

The Ancient Greek definition of art as mimesis is copying visual experience or imitation of the real world. True False

Answers

Final answer:

The Ancient Greek definition of art as mimesis is indeed copying visual experience or imitation of the real world. Greek artists aimed to create realistic representations of human figures, scenes from mythology, and daily life.

Explanation:

The statement that the Ancient Greek definition of art as mimesis is copying visual experience or imitation of the real world is True. In Ancient Greece, art was seen as a form of mimesis, which means that it aimed to imitate or copy aspects of the real world. Greek artists, such as sculptors and painters, sought to create realistic representations of human figures, scenes from mythology, and daily life.

Ancient Greek art often depicted individuals, objects, and scenes that closely resembled their real counterparts. For example, the Greek sculptor Myron created a lifelike bronze statue of an athlete throwing a discus, which was later copied by Roman artists (Figure 6.20a). Greek vase painters also depicted realistic scenes from myths and daily life on their pottery (Figure 6.22b). These examples demonstrate the Ancient Greek emphasis on capturing the visual experience and imitating the real world in their art.

Out-of-state cases What factors are important for the MIG owners to consider before making a decision on whether or not they should sell the restaurant to AECB? Why are these factors important? Originally, scientists predicted small asteroids to be hard and rocky, as any loose surface material (called regolith) generated by impacts was expected to escape their weak gravity. Aggregate small bodies were not thought to exist, because the slightest sustained relative motion would cause them to separate. But observations and computer modeling are proving otherwise. Most asteroids larger than a kilometer are now believed to be composites of smaller pieces. Those imaged at high-resolution show evidence for copious regolith despite the weak gravity. Most of them have one or more extraordinarily large craters, some of which are wider than the mean radius of the whole body. Such colossal impacts would not just gouge out a craterthey would break any monolithic body into pieces. In short, asteroids larger than a kilometer across may look like nuggets of hard rock but are more likely to be aggregate assemblagesor even piles of loose rubble so pervasively fragmented that no solid bedrock is left. The rubble hypothesis, proposed decades ago by scientists, lacked evidence, until the planetologist Schumaker realized that the huge craters on the asteroid Mathilde and its very low density could only make sense together: a porous body such as a rubble pile can withstand a battering much better than an integral object. It will absorb and dissipate a large fraction of the energy of an impact; the far side might hardly feel a thing. At first, the rubble hypothesis may appear conceptually troublesome. The material strength of an asteroid is nearly zero, and the gravity is so low one is tempted to neglect that too. The truth is neither strength nor gravity can be ignored. Paltry though it may be, gravity binds a rubble pile together. And anybody who builds sandcastles knows that even loose debris can cohere. Oft-ignored details of motion begin to matter: sliding friction, chemical bonding, damping of kinetic energy, etc. We are just beginning to fathom the subtle interplay of these minuscule forces. The size of an asteroid should determine which force dominates. One indication is the observed pattern of asteroidal rotation rates. Some collisions cause an asteroid to spin faster; others slow it down. If asteroids are monolithic rocks undergoing random collisions, a graph of their rotation rates should show a bell-shaped distribution with a statistical "tail" of very fast rotators. If nearly all asteroids are rubble piles, however, this tail would be missing, because any rubble pile spinning faster than once every two or three hours fly apart. Recently, several astronomers discovered that all but five observed asteroids obey a strict rotation limit. The exceptions are all smaller than about 150 meters in diameter, with an abrupt cutoff for asteroids larger than 200 meters. The evident conclusionthat asteroids larger than 200 meters across are rubble pilesagrees with recent computer modeling of collisions. A collision can blast a large asteroid to bits, but those bits will usually be moving slower than their mutual escape velocity (the lowest velocity that a body must have in order to escape the orbit of a planet). Over several hours, gravity will reassemble all but the fastest pieces into a rubble pile. How would the author of the passage most likely respond to the assertion of another scientist claiming that a crater greater than the radius of an asteroid is a result of an impact?A. Asteroids actually contain a significant amount of regolith despite the force of weak gravity.B. Because of a great degree of fragmentation such an asteroid would have to have a solid bedrock.C. Such a crater would most probably result from a series of small impacts over a period of time.D. Most asteroids are held together by a series of forces that are often unstable.E. This claim would constitute evidence that the asteroid is not monolithic.
