The amount of light will be changed to see its effect on the growth of plants in a sample of plants at a garden. The independent variable will be defined generally as the variable which is changed. The dependent variable is the variable which is under study and the effect of the independent variable on it is studied.
The purpose of every experiment is similar because they all tend to prove a hypothesis or modify an already existing theory in general.
